Director of Product Management

Hybrid (minimum of 2-3 days a week from the office)

Shape the Future of Privacy

Usercentrics is a global leader in data privacy and privacy-led marketing solutions. We believe there is no need for a trade-off between growth and privacy compliance. Our vision is to unlock the potential of data privacy to empower a thriving digital ecosystem. We work with companies to create a healthy balance between data-driven business and privacy-led marketing for every size of enterprise. Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.

We are looking for a Director of Product Management to own the strategy, outcomes, and people of one of our product pillars. This is a fully accountable leadership role: you'll set the direction for your team, develop product talent, and make sure the work your team ships connects clearly to company-wide goals. You'll combine hands-on team leadership with pillar-level strategy, working closely with peers across Product, Engineering, and the broader business.

How We Work: AI-Native by Default
Usercentrics is actively pushing AI adoption across Product for real efficiency gains. This isn't background context, it's a working expectation. As a Director, you're expected to actively drive AI-native ways of working within your team: using AI to speed up research synthesis, discovery, spec writing, and prototyping, and building the judgment in your PMs to use it well rather than uncritically. This is a real, current expectation on how you'll run your team from day one, not an aspirational nice-to-have.

What You Will Do

Own product strategy

  • Take full ownership of your team's outcomes: adjust strategy, roadmap, or process proactively when results aren't tracking, and spot diminishing returns before they bite.
  • Define clearly what your team should focus on, why the investment matters, and what outcomes Usercentrics can expect
  • Contribute meaningfully to pillar-level strategy and connect your team's work to the priorities of the management team
  • Identify novel areas of investment that advance the product vision, and build the case for new strategic initiatives

Drive product execution

  • Set and uphold high standards for specification, delivery, and quality across your team, reviewing and shaping key product work
  • Make the tough trade-off calls between projects and investment areas to maximize the value your pillar delivers
  • Build and maintain best practices for specification, delivery, and quality, and hold your team accountable for outcomes
  • Anticipate your team's resourcing, skills, and tooling needs based on the roadmap ahead, and act before gaps become blockers

Stay close to the domain

  • Align market insight across teams and pillars, grounding strategy in a deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market opportunity
  • Partner closely with engineering leadership to align technical strategy and address cross-functional challenges
  • Lead cross-team efforts to address industry trends and regulatory challenges, ensure compliance across product areas, and help position Usercentrics as an industry leader

Turn insight into direction

  • Make sure your team has the data, user feedback, and market insight it needs to make informed decisions, and use that data to set and communicate quarterly goals
  • Coach your product managers to use data and customer insight to shape recommendations and roadmap direction, not just to report on results
  • Strengthen the relationship between PMs and design, and push for design that keeps pace with how AI is changing product experiences, not just how it's changing engineering

Lead and grow your people

  • Identify strengths and development areas for each team member, and proactively close skills gaps across the team
  • Manage your team's careers, not just their performance, and look for opportunities to help them grow into product leaders
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the company, keeping key partners informed and avoiding last-minute surprises
  • Influence prioritization and resourcing decisions at the pillar level, and ensure your team's progress has visibility and support at the VP level.

Requirements

Must-haves

  • Proven experience leading product management teams, including hiring, coaching, and developing product managers into stronger leaders
  • A track record of owning product strategy and outcomes for a significant product area, including making and defending hard trade-off decisions
  • Strong ability to use data, user feedback, and market insight to set direction and inform a roadmap
  • Experience driving product-led growth (PLG) motions, using product usage and adoption signals to fuel acquisition, retention, or expansion
  • Demonstrated success building and influencing relationships with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, Go-To-Market teams and company leadership
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategy and connect team-level work to company-wide priorities

Nice-to-haves

  • Domain experience in AdTech, MarTech, or privacy/consent management (e.g. CMPs, tracking/consent infrastructure)
  • Experience operating in a multi-product or multi-brand organization
  • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven product environments
