QA FUNCTIONAL TESTER – JUNIOR / MID (HYBRID LISBON)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Functional Tester to join an innovative project within the energy sector.

In this role, you will contribute to software quality by creating and executing test cases, validating functional requirements, testing APIs, identifying defects, and monitoring quality metrics. You will work closely with technical and functional teams to ensure that solutions meet business expectations and established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, execute, maintain, and document functional test cases;
• Analyse and validate functional requirements;
• Support test planning and prioritisation activities;
• Provide technical support throughout testing activities;
• Perform API testing and validate system integrations;
• Execute tests in virtual environments;
• Identify, analyse, document, and track defects;
• Monitor and report testing and quality metrics;
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to resolve issues;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in QA or software testing;
• Strong functional testing experience;
• Hands-on experience with API testing;
• Knowledge of SQL;
• Experience analysing and validating functional requirements;
• Experience creating, executing, and maintaining test cases;
• Familiarity with defect identification, documentation, and tracking;
• Experience performing tests in virtual environments;
• Fluent Portuguese;
• English at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken;
• Availability to work on-site in Oeiras/Lisbon three days per week.

Nice to Have

• ISTQB Foundation certification;
• Knowledge of Spanish;
• Previous experience in the energy sector;
• Experience reporting testing and quality metrics;
• Familiarity with Agile environments and test management tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in functional software testing and combines strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

You are comfortable analysing requirements, creating test scenarios, querying databases with SQL, validating APIs, and documenting defects clearly. You communicate effectively with technical and business teams, take ownership of testing activities, and are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.
