Role Description The Assistant General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Rochavau Hotel in Portimão. This role supports the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage coordination, to ensure consistently high service standards. The Assistant General Manager monitors guest satisfaction, responds to feedback, and helps manage guest relations to create memorable stays. Responsibilities include supporting staff scheduling, training, and performance, as well as assisting with inventory control, cost management, and basic financial reporting. The role also contributes to maintaining brand standards, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene regulations, and collaborating with other departments to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

• Proven experience in hotel or hospitality management, ideally in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
• Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and support diverse staff members.
• Excellent customer service and guest relations skills, with a professional, calm, and solution-focused approach.
• Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including multitasking, prioritizing, and attention to detail.
• Comfort with basic hotel operations systems (PMS, booking systems) and standard office software.
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, health and safety regulations, and quality control practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and stakeholders.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in line with hotel operation needs.
• Relevant education in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business, or similar field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a boutique or lifestyle hotel environment is an advantage.
