Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Quality to lead and manage the quality strategy and execution across our Back Office teams. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end quality, from ideation through to production operations, ensuring the highest standards of software quality and reliability. This role will oversee a diverse team of 12 Scrum teams and 24 Test Automation Engineers, driving a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in both manual and automated testing processes.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in quality management, particularly in clearing and settlement systems or similarly regulated environments, and a deep understanding of agile delivery models.
What you will do
  • Quality Ownership: Define and implement a comprehensive quality strategy for the Clearing and Settlement Back Office teams, ensuring quality is embedded from the initial stages of product ideation through production deployment and operation.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage 12 Scrum teams and a team of 24 Test Automation Engineers, ensuring alignment to quality best practices and company standards.
  • End-to-End Quality Assurance: Drive quality initiatives that cover the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering, development, testing, release, and ongoing production monitoring.
  • Test Strategy Development: Create and refine test strategies, including test automation, performance testing, security testing, and regression testing, ensuring scalability and robustness of the systems.
  • Automation Excellence: Lead efforts to enhance the automation capabilities across teams, ensuring high levels of test coverage and reducing reliance on manual testing.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to define quality metrics, set expectations, and deliver high-quality software.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using data-driven insights and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance overall team efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate quality risks across projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and addressing any production issues promptly.
  • Innovation in Testing: Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and practices to stay at the forefront of software quality management.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure that quality efforts align with customer expectations and regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of financial clearing and settlement.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in clearing and settlement or similarly complex financial systems.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, especially in Scrum environments.
  • Expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber) and continuous integration (CI) tools like Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based environments (public and private) and tools for managing testing in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with performance testing and security testing in a high-availability production environment.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire, and grow a high-performing quality engineering team.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working closely with senior management.
