The Position
The Collections Associate Specialist will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, continuously following up on outstanding payments. They will contact customers via phone calls and emails to remind them of overdue balances, negotiating payment terms or settlement agreements when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Support on recording and updating payment and contact information in the management system, ensuring everything is properly documented. Additionally, will analyze customer financial information to assess their creditworthiness and risk and prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve discrepancies and disputes regarding invoices. They will also handle account reconciliations, ensuring that payments are applied correctly, and any inconsistencies are resolved efficiently.
- Monitoring overdue accounts, working with the team to minimize the risk of non-payment. They will also assist in preparing aging reports and efficiently manage the customer portfolio to ensure the company's finances remain in good standing.
- Contribute to ensuring all processes and transactions comply with accounting standards, policies, SOX and statutory requirements and provide input to the global process owner group for operational opportunities for process and control design, as well as customer experience. The OtC Service Center team will be organized regionally, so the Associate Specialist will be working within a regional scope. As well as having responsibility for successful delivery of OtC operations for their region.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or other related to OtC.
- 0 to 1 year of experience in OtC processes.
- Fluency in English and Spanish Language
- Experience working on regional or global teams.
- Demonstrated experience working in large teams collaboratively.
- Demonstrated strong math, query, analytical and systems skills with demonstrated experience in data management, MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls.
- Effective training skills and team building capabilities for management of functional tasks within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strong oral and written communication, presentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Good project management skills including ability to coordinate and implement complex cross-functional activities.
- Experience with continuous process improvement projects leading to significant time or bottom-line savings.
- Pays attention to details, produces accurate deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.
- Proactive style in implementing new processes.
- Experience using SAP R/3 required.
