Overview

This full-stack engineer will work on the backend platform that enables our games to provide functionality between the web, mobile apps, and our databases. You will design, build, test, and support API endpoints to enable user authentication, inventory management, player history, purchases, subscriptions, and in-game reward mechanics. This engineer will develop features for internal admin websites and content management systems allowing product owners and content managers complete control over the user community and game customizations. We develop systems that engage millions of users a day.

This role will join an all-star team including a project manager, a technical engineering manager, technical lead engineer, a senior software engineer, and a dedicated QA engineer. Each programmer on the team has 10 years or more of web engineering experience. You will be directly involved in projects that engage with key company stakeholders including: the CEO, President, Product Owners, Creative, Marketing, Data, and Front End developer teams.

If you are 3-7 years professionally experienced and passionately interested in both frontend and backend development and get hyped about React, Node, and TypeScript. This is your golden opportunity to make a great contribution in a successful and growing company competing in the gaming industry.

This role is open to candidates based in Portugal and will remain remote for the time being.

For those in Portugal, business hours are 9-18 WEST (UTC+1).

Responsibilities
*

• Development of web applications and websites of varying degrees of complexity, from feature rich single page applications to internal libraries used by other developer teams.

• Development of web services and well-structured API's.

• Design of data base structures and schemas.

• Collaborating with front-end developers on the integration of UX elements and backend service connected functionality.

• Developing high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.

• Keeping informed of advancements in the field of Node.js development.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Strong Knowledge of traditional topics in Computer Science such as: data structures, optimization, and the client-server model.

• Two or more years of backend/frontend development experience with official work in companies and teams.

• Backend: TypeScript, Node, Express.

• Frontend: TypeScript, React.

• Work experience building RESTful API's.

• Work experience with PostgreSQL.

• Work experience with Web Sockets.

• Work experience with code organization, MVC, atomic principles, OO and functional programming.

• Integrations between third party libraries and API's such as authentication and transaction systems.

• Deep understanding of native JS, HTTP Methods, HTTP Codes, Browser DOM, and Virtual DOM.

• ES6, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Webpack, NPM.
