Role description:

As part of our expansion, we are launching a new production site in Albergaria-a-Velha, Portugal, in the summer of 2025. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Strategic Buyer to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services at optimal cost and quality. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to align purchasing decisions with business objectives, drive cost-saving initiatives, and enhance supply chain efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strategic supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment.

What can you expect?

• Implementation of procurement strategies for plastics and mechanical components to optimize costs, quality and delivery times
• Negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with vendors
• Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new suppliers. Carrying out supplier qualification, evaluation and development
• Independent management of purchasing projects, including the introduction of new materials (plastic/mechanical)
• Identification and assessment of risks in the supply chain and development of measures to minimize risks

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Sound knowledge of the procurement markets for plastics and mechanics as well as the corresponding technologies and materials.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience working with ERP system (S/4 HANA or R/3).
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of contract management and supplier performance evaluation.
• You have a good command of English
