The Creative Technology team at Dorier specializes in transforming complex ideas into seamless, immersive experiences that engage, inspire, and leave a lasting impression. We offer a wide range of services, including interactive installations, immersive experiences, custom software and app development, and digital content creation. Our approach combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of human needs and emotions, ensuring that every interaction feels personal and impactful.
We are looking to expand our team and onboard software engineers that want to be part of our mission. These roles are crucial for developing cutting-edge large-scale interactive installations, custom software, and digital content that will elevate our clients' engagements.

This is a full-time remote position offered as an 8-month fixed-term contract, fully dedicated to the execution of a software development project, with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent role based on performance and project evolution.
You have to be based in Portugal, preferably in the North region as currently most of the team is located in Aveiro. You also need to be fluent in English, as you will be collaborating with people from all around the world.
Salary varies based on seniority and relevant industry experience. The current range is 40k to 60k EUR, yearly gross salary.

YOUR ROLE

As our Back-End Engineer, you'll be essential in developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure backend services. You'll build the backbone of our digital and interactive experiences, ensuring efficient data processing, reliable integration, and smooth real-time interactions. Collaborating closely with Front-End developers, DevOps, and design teams, you’ll deliver high-performance systems that enhance user experiences.
The role is likely to evolve throughout time, requiring flexibility and desire to change. This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their well-established career, who is excited about ownership and solving complex problems.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for an engineer with:
- Proven ability to drive Back-End projects independently, from architecture to deployment, taking ownership of services and system components.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable Back-End architectures and APIs.
- Solid programming experience with modern languages such as Python or Java.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, data modeling, and Back-End security principles.
- Solid experience with database modeling, query optimization, and data handling at scale.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka for handling asynchronous communication between services.
-Comfortable building and maintaining microservices, integrating third-party services, and working in distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of containerization tools such as Docker.
- Comfortable working in Agile environments with established CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure DevOps to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
- A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with Front-End engineers and DevOps specialists to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
- A strong understanding of server-side performance, scalability, and security best practices, with a proactive approach to system reliability, documentation, and data protection.

As a remote position, the ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional and geographically dispersed team is essential. NICE TO HAVE

The Creative Technology team delivers a wide variety of interactive experiences, fixed installations and software applications. The ability to contribute to these, outside the main scope of your role, with the perspective of a DevOps engineer is, although not mandatory, highly valued. We are looking for:
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered solutions, especially integrating or deploying large language models (LLMs) into production workflows. Familiarity with platforms and frameworks such as Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face or similar tools is also valued.
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal or other game engines.
- Interest or experience in blockchain-based systems or decentralized application infrastructure.
- Contributions to open-source projects and privacy-oriented initiatives.
