Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to coordinate the design, engineering, procurement, and construction phases of a new factory for infant formula ingredients, ensuring alignment with CarboCode’s strategic objectives and execution within time, budget, quality, and regulatory constraints.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain URS for all factory systems and specialties, ensuring compliance with GMP/GEP practices where applicable.
  • Develop and manage project documentation: communication protocols, design standards, WBS, schedules, progress reports, and change control records, using PMI methodology.
  • Apply agile project principles, including sprints and iterative cycles, where suitable to increase project adaptability and execution efficiency.
  • Promote transparent communication and alignment with senior management, integrating strategic direction and escalating critical decisions or deviations.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and environmental standards throughout the execution of the project.
  • Act as the main liaison with the external engineering firm responsible for basic and detailed engineering of the new facility, based on User Requirement Specifications (URS).
  • Define and manage the scope of work with equipment suppliers (process, utility, and support equipment).
  • Coordinate the activities and technical interfaces with contractors involved in piping, mechanical, waste treatment, electrical, instrumentation, control, IT, and civil works.
  • Support and prepare for future commissioning of all facility and qualification and validation activities as needed for GMP-relevant areas.
  • Foster collaboration with other internal departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless transition from construction to operations.

Role Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related scientific/technical field. Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly valued.
  • Training in project management methodologies (PMI), agile/scrum practices, and communication management are beneficial.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing technical projects, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or food sectors.
  • Experience with GMP-related installations and industrial utility systems is highly valued.
  • Familiar with the development of URS, project charters, stakeholder engagement plans, change control, equipment specifications, commissioning and all project related documentation as per PMI.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Gantt, WBS)
  • Experience in ATEX environments.
  • Training or experience with CAD tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project documentation systems
