At Critical TechWorks, we are at the cutting edge of BMW Group’s technologies, and our Platform Cybersecurity Wannabes are the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

This role is perfect for motivated learners eager to dive into the world of DevSecOps, combining the intersection of infrastructure and cybersecurity to create impactful solutions.

If you're passionate about software, love a challenge, and are ready to embark on an exciting learning journey, this is your opportunity to become a Platform Cybersecurity Paladin.

Your Journey as a Platform Cybersecurity Wannabe:

• Intensive Learning Program: Participate in our three-month Academy, starting on 12th of May. Training will be fully in-person, and after its completion, our hybrid model of three days per week in the office will apply. You'll learn fundamental concepts of Operating Systems, Scripting Languages, Networking, Cybersecurity and relevant technologies. DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, Observability, Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, Cloud infrastructure and Containerization are also covered.

• Hands-on Experience: After completing the Academy, join a multidisciplinary team to continuously refine your skills, mastering cloud infrastructure and building highly performant distributed and cybersecure systems.

• Fullstack Technological Development: Work across the full technological stack, from developing robust containerized solutions, to work directly on Vulnerabilities Management on IT, OT or Cloud, to setup Infrastructure as Code and deployments using advanced CI/CD tools and GitOps approaches or working directly on the development of cybersecure and critical software solutions.

• Agile Methodology Participation: Actively engage in Scrum ceremonies, contributing to the agile development process.

Whatever you’re working on, here’s the lowdown on the technical skills you’ll be developing:

• Operating Systems & Systems Administration: Learn and understand fundamentals of strategies and algorithms concepts related with OS scheduling and behaviours.

• Software Development: Learn and apply fundamental software development principles.

• Database Integration: Learn to work with databases, ensuring smooth data flow and storage.

• Automate Everything / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD practices to automate testing and deployment processes.

• Cloud Infrastructure & Containerization Orchestration: Get hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization orchestration technologies.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Configuration as Code (CaC): Use tools like Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure management and configuration management.

• Everything as Code (EaC): If it is IT, build it as Code since beginning mentality.

• Observability: Understand and apply observability practices for monitoring and preventive maintaining software and systems.

The Essential Skills for Your Journey

• Have an Academic background in a related field. Long-term academic courses, such as bachelor’s and master’s degrees, will be prioritized.

• Be a team player with excellent English oral and written skills.

• Have a strong motivation for infrastructure development and / or cybersecurity and the listed technical domains.

• Be ready to adapt and learn continuously in a dynamic workplace.

• Embrace agile and its implementation frameworks namely Scrum, to make the most out of all its events and work to keep evolving a high-performing team.

• Be available to be a cross-functional team member by using and developing new skills and enabling a fully responsible team able to cover the whole product lifecycle.

• Use standard software engineering practices and tools like version control, IDEs, data dashboards, to manage and keep a systematic and organized development process.

• Use state of the art DevSecOps quality practices and tools such as Continuous Integration /Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to build, analyse, perform automated testing and deployment processes, to ensure a streamlined and reliable development workflow.

• Run and operate developed software inside and outside working hours if needed, to provide high quality software services (extra compensation will be applicable).

• Be available to travel abroad for short periods, as required to support all the phases of the product development cycle when needed.
