Overall 8/10 A pretty good company, the staff, usually, kept in touch, informing me of the ongoing work, which I was doing Pay; pretty good, could be better, especially when you find out, they are advertising better rates than what was being paid to me "Bonus"; Company Pension
I learned that team working is essential and not everyone can work at the same pace, and not everyone picks up the tasks as quick as everyone else, the work is repetitive so having a bit of banter with your work mates helps the shift go by quicker, I had very little contact with the management apart from when I was working on the late shift within the hygiene team, he was very approachable and made me feel welcome, The culture within the factory at times is difficult to cope with because of all the different nationalities who at times do not get on with each other, The hardest part of the job is having to change shifts from 6-2 to 2-10 then back again on a weekly basis I preferred the later shift, The most enjoyable part of the job was learning new skills the Pro sealer, learning some basics about chemicals with the hygiene team on the night shift.
No two days are the same. The management are helpful and understanding, especially when dealing with unexpected problems. For me, a hard part of the job was long commutes as all posting so far have been in West Hull, this meant short-notice shifts proved a problem, but they understand.
In depth inductions
Everybody puts in the same levels of work commitment and if you do not then it is obvious. Hard getting by unless you have the energy to do the job.
A typical day at work requires that you wear an overall and safety boots, a Hairnet and earplugs. I learned how to be fast with the scales. It is often necessary to discuss what has been happening in the area you worked at. It is right at the end of Hessle Road very near ASDA, the canteen is very good. The hardest part of the job is making the Christmas selection lunches. I Like rolling the Sausage Rolls.
Made to feel as though as part of a team
It has been very hard work
hardworking day learned packing shrinkwrapping on turntable learned to work as part of ateam and own inative i get along with young and old a like there isnt an hard part only if you make so your self most parts are enjoyable iam avery fast learner and willing to tackle any new task
not enought overtime
Having worked for GI Group I must say I have never ever had such a bad experience within a work place. It was like slave labour, do 8 hour shift and the company expected you to do overtime everyday...this wasnt voluntary in their eyes as you had to explain why you wouldnt stay back, bearing in mind you only got 1 30min break regardless of an 8 hour shift or 12hours. The women at the agency spoke to you like poo and if you wanted a day off....well good luck to that. After 12weeks of employment my wage should have gone up to the permanent operatives wage but instead of a pay rise I got the sack!! And they then took 3 new starters on instead. If you want empty dreams and promises, slave labour and become a piece of poo on the bottom of their shoe then this agency is for you.
Leaving work alive.
Having to go to Slave Camp!
