Descrição Completa da Oferta

We are looking for talented individuals living in the Lisbon area to join our Data Quality office, and specifically our task force dedicated to Data Support. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to get a foothold in the world of Startups and Venture Capital while developing your skills in Data Quality, Classification & Platform Support.

About the role

What can you expect from this position?

Our Data Support colleagues are fully integrated in the broader Data Quality office, with regular interactions with our Intelligence Unit, Data Engineering, and Customer success teams. The role features unique exposure to the inner workings of the Dealroom app and the data underneath it, and a thorough understanding of the definitions and concepts supporting its structure.

On a daily basis you can expect to work on a diverse set of requests pertaining to startup ecosystems (startups and their founders) and their enablers (Investors, Universities and service providers). You will be in touch with our researchers and analysts in the Intelligence Unit, providing industry-leading mentoring and advice. On a weekly basis, you will be in touch with our Sales and Customer Success teams, who will provide guidelines and best practices on how to communicate with our users. You will also work closely with our AI engineers, who will be eager to involve you in a variety of projects leading up to high-quality automation, with direct insights into the inner workings of Machine Learning algorithms powering our App.

What you can expect in the Data Support task force

Data Support forms the front line of Dealroom’s user-centered approach. As part of the taskforce, your two main responsibilities will revolve around:

  • Building a searchable database through data classification: you will ensure that companies and products are adequately classified, by implementing our proprietary taxonomy, and writing and reviewing short descriptions of the world’s hottest startups. You will work at various levels of granularity on our data and content including business structures, industry, sub-industry and thematic categorisations. In time, you will become a trusted team player on which the team relies to maintain and expand a robust and user-friendly categorisation strategy across our database. You play a key role in further driving automation within the organization.

  • Providing customized platform support to our most inquisitive users: you will be answering questions of users on a daily basis, building on your understanding of the inner workings of our app, product and research. In doing so, you will provide users with tailor-made responses whilst collecting valuable feedback and funneling it back to our customer success team. In parallel, you will be participating in the development of our product, which you will quickly get to know in great depths as a daily power user.

The Data Support taskforce supports implementation of our taxonomy under the joint supervision of automation engineers running our algorithms, and of the intelligence unit. You also work closely with sales and customer success teams to ensure the timely and accurate handling of user requests and queries, and with our product team as part of our testing pool and feedback pool.

  • Key markers of success in Data Curation include a growing understanding of our taxonomy and its subtleties, and an appetite for continuous improvement of its structure and implementation, and a capacity to disseminate this knowledge by handling user requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • There is room for personal and professional growth in this position, given the amount and nature of interactions with technical and sales teams, and with our users.

  • You will receive training in, and gradually become an expert on the Dealroom taxonomy, startup industries and emerging technologies, and how to handle interactions with users in relation to these issues.

  • If you are curious, approachable, and you enjoy helping others whilst moving or closing issues quickly and efficiently, then this position is for you!

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Investigate products and services developed by startups globally, and enhance their Dealroom profiles accordingly. For instance, you will review summaries and edit taglines on company profiles;

  • Improve data classification, implement Dealroomʼs proprietary taxonomy and contribute to its continuous development;

  • Share your knowledge of the Dealroom app and taxonomy with users.

  • Escalate questions and queries to the appropriate team(s) and colleagues across the organization, from analysts to sales representatives, to engineers.

  • Fool-proof our app and its content, by participating in product testing sessions, escalating inconsistencies, and reporting bugs spotted by users.

You will also:

  • Take part in automation projects by auditing and processing large sets of incomplete data;

  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by processing ad-hoc requests such as creating lists and landscapes against set parameters.
